ALPHA URSAE MINORIS

ALPHA URSAE MINORIS draws its essence from watchmaking guilloché, that meticulous craftsmanship which adorns dials. But here, these patterns are no longer static: they come to life, offering a new interpretation of time. The watch is steeped in its own history and builds its narrative around its heritage—that of the sundial. Inspired by space technologies, it evokes satellites and their silicon photovoltaic panels, true sensors of the movement of celestial bodies.

Its dial, conceived as a constellation of 144 plates arranged along 36 axes, with each one representing 15 minutes of elapsed time. Time is read in the traditional way, on a 12-hour dial, throughout which metamorphoses unfold. Every 12 hours, at midnight and noon, all the plates pivot, thus changing the color of the entire dial. Inspired by space engineering, the strap incorporates glass, echoing the satellites and the silica of their panels, creating a continuity with the dial. Far from being a mere display, ALPHA URSAE MINORIS offers a watchmaking experience where the instant becomes movement.
